Under the guise of battling terrorism, Russian Federation sent its mercenaries to Mozambique. The real conquest is for the natural gas reserves in the country.
Dmitry Peskov issued a flat denial, “as far as Moazambique is concerned, there are no Russian soldiers there”.
However, Mozambique president Filipe Nyusi signed over resources rights to Russia in 2019. The Wagner PMC guys arrived in Mozambique September 19, 2019 on an Antonov AN124 plane. Another AN124 delivered a Mi17 attack helicopter to the mission too.
The planes were deployed from the 224th Flight Unit of the Russian air force. Source: CNN: Nov 29, 2019
